Word of the 1st march of pride of Amiens - June 22, 2019

This is historic, for Amiens, for Picardy and the Hauts-de-France. 50 after the Stonewall riots in the United States, the first Pride Parade will be held in Amiens on June 22, 2019.
This initiative was born from the impetus of 6 amian associations fighting against all forms of discrimination, for the rights of women and LGBTQI + people (lesbian, gay, bi, trans, queer, intersex and others), gathered within the collective IDAHOT for 2 years: Flash Our True Colors, Les Bavardes, Gas Solidarity, Translucent Association, SOS Homophobia - Delegation Picardie and AIDES - Hauts de France.

Each activist and specialist of one or more issues specific to LGBTQI + people (lesbian, gay, bi, trans, queer, intersex, fight against AIDS, prevention, awareness in schools, training of professionals. Etc), this walk of Pride desires to gather the greatest number, being all concerned with the defense of rights and making the claims visible, as a place of struggle against all forms of discrimination and domination.
Through the participation of 45 organizations, this event becomes a place of intersectional convergence that will send a strong message to our policies and the territory: the absolute necessity to put in place a real and great policy of fight against all discriminations, for the rights of women and LGBTQI + people, as well as a questioning of a normative and non-inclusive system, creating profound inequalities and injustices, in France and in the world.

It is a strong symbolism, that of a possible gathering of all our struggles and our forces, without hierarchy of struggles, without political recovery of our institutions, without pinkwashing and commercial recovery.

On June 28, 1969 in Stonewall, gays, lesbians, queens, drags, sex workers fight back in New York bar against the repeated violence and humiliations of the police, and the silence of the population . These days of riots, which represent a shift in the history of our struggles, that of the struggle of the discriminated against the domination undergone by the institutions, gave rise to a worldwide movement of LGBTQI + demands for equal rights.
Today, we commit ourselves to walk in tribute to these people.

On the territory, this march meets a fundamental need, that of accompanying the LGBTQI + people and their entourage face the aggressions and the discriminations whose scary figures do not lower. Indeed, LGBTQI + people face uninhibited and brutal homophobia, transphobia and biphobia, here and around the world. Mixed with other forms of discrimination and oppression, systemic and structural, such as sexism, racism, cisnormativity, validisime to name a few, we can only invest the public space.

We invite all people to join us in this gathering of struggles, tributes and visibilizations of the diversity of our society. The rights to acquire are numerous and those acquired are fragile, take advantage of this march to allow the exchange between all and the discovery of our diversities, so that the shame finally changes camp.

We are fighting for all this, and especially for the rights of Trans and Intersex people, asylum seekers and sex workers, for access to the LDC without conditions or restrictions and the maintenance of the means to combat AIDS.

Finally, we think of all the people who can not be with us today and wanted to thank all the associations that work daily and tirelessly, all the volunteers who allowed this first step that we expected so much, and all participating organizations that responded in large numbers on this historic day.
