Ciné Club "Angel"
For the first film club of 2019 Girofard Bordeaux offers for the first time to gather around a documentary on Tuesday, January 15 at 20h Girofard. "Angel" a film about the weight of homophobia in Latin American societies, an epic and endearing confusing documentary awarded in 2011 a prize for the best film against discrimination.
Angel, a 36-year-old Ecuadorian transvestite who prostitutes in Paris, gets a residence permit. For Christmas, he can finally return to his country, Ecuador, and find his family he left five years ago.
The film traces this two-month trip with Angel, a deep immersion in a complex and difficult to access universe. Illustration of the dynamics related to the remittances of immigrants to their families, Angel is a film about the weight of homophobia in Latin American societies. With the main setting of a poor neighborhood of Guayaquil, this documentary tells the epic story of a character as confusing as endearing.
