Taking advantage of the 2020 confinement, the author looks back on another epidemic ... In the early 90s, AIDS was wreaking havoc. After losing his companion, the filmmaker, HIV positive, decides to participate in a clandestine therapeutic trial proposed by Professor Andrieu at Laennec hospital. The researcher agrees to let himself be filmed and to confide in his patient. A deep friendship is forged little by little.
After The Farewell to Moustafa last year, it is a pleasure to present the new film by one of the pioneers of homosexual representation in cinema. Philippe Vallois, readily described as a maverick, has cultivated an unclassifiable cinema since the 1970s, happily alternating fictions and documentaries. With Dissidence, he signs a moving documentary based on images shot in the 90s, where he looks back on his fight against the disease and his relationship with the love of his life: Jean Decampe, brilliant writer broke in full flight while he had a promising career.
The screening will be followed by a meeting with director Philippe Vallois.
