Two dream smugglers unveil their “erotic installation” at the Dépôt, a place internationally recognized for its nights dedicated to gay sex and LGBTQI clubbing.
“Erotic installation” is a term coined by the two artists to designate this Cabinet of Curiosities. Composed of 15 erotic and unpublished photos of Véronique Willemin framed and staged by Miguel Segas, the Cabinet is presented in the Galerie du Dépôt transformed into an ephemeral gallery for the duration of the exhibition.
The creation of the Cabinet de Curiosités took place in 2004 for two months in the studio with models, galore dancers or porn stars who confronted Véronique's objective with male asperities, under the auspices and flashes of Gilles Néret. This publishing man, known for his books on the male nude (Homo Art, Erotica Universalis) and art historian, “married” the two artists for an original project.
The artist duo have the same culture of curiosity, the same look on the Beautiful, the same taste for the unique, the wonderful and the exuberant. Watchers and unearthers, they stage the codes of the cabinets of curiosities of the Grand Siècle: rare and marvelous objects arranged and staged according to well-established codes and rituals.
Almost 20 years after its creation, the Cabinet de Curiosités was born a second time and set out to meet its public.
