● What does the ensa course include?
During the course "ensa - First aid in mental health", instructors trained in four modules of three hours each provide basic knowledge on mental disorders. Likewise, concrete first aid measures in the event of a problematic situation or in the event of a crisis are taught and practiced. The ensa course begins with the teaching of basic knowledge about mental health and psychological disorders. The participants reflect together on the frequency of mental disorders and the way they are perceived in our society. They learn to apply first aid in mental health in five steps and address the most frequent mental disorders (depression, anxiety disorders, psychosis and addiction). First aid in crisis situations, as well as how to address and support people with the first signs of mental health problems, are also discussed and practiced during the course. Group exercises and role plays are an integral part of the course in order to apply the acquired knowledge in a concrete way.

● What is the point of being a first aid worker?
Rescuers have basic knowledge of various mental disorders and crises. They know how to approach, assist, support and inform an affected person in their close circle. They also know how to encourage the person to seek professional help and find additional resources. Rescuers do not learn to diagnose.
