Loud & Proud is a queer, feminist and intersectional festival that questions the representation and visibility of women and sexual minorities in culture. He intends to give priority to those bodies and identities that undermine the norms of gender, race or class, by scheduling, over four days of discovery, concerts, workshops, performances, meetings and screenings. .
In American queer is an insult that means "weird", "chelou", "crooked" but also "fag" and "dyke" in opposition to the word "straight" which, he, refers to the heterosexual norm. The insult was retrieved in the 1990s by sexual minorities to proudly claim these different identities at the margins. From now on, queer is a current of militant thought, a grid of reading useful to question the gender, the social and sexual norms, as well as the relations of domination which result from it.
