- PARPAING // Nicolas Petisoff -

Something improbable happens to me.

On Thursday, September 19, 2017, my biological family finds me and I discover a brother and a sister.

I, the only child, who defines me by a life already charged in rebound, I discover a past, a mother "daughter-mother" forced to abandon me at my birth, she was 17 1/2, she will live with this weight and this pain until his death ...

My roots are not the ones I thought I knew and the story of my life does not exist. I built myself on lies. Everything is jostling. And beyond my experience (the one I know mixed with the one I discover), questions arise for me.

I take in the face the "to be or not to be", the "who am I?", The "what man have I become and what man do I want to become?". Where do I finally get the values I'm wearing? Being
human being after which I run and try to evolve is built on what ... concretely?

In this work, I will question the personal construction, the search for one's own identity, the relationship between the truth that one assumes and the reality one discovers. I would like to share with the world those issues that animate and jostle me.

I have no more certainty.

My show is called cinder block: The cinder block is at the same time a weight, a building material, it is the foundation; It reminds me of where I come from, a low-middle-class industrial zone, Cora, Flunch, Phenix homes. This environment is the link, the red thread that connects my multiple truths.

Cinderblock is the story of a journey, that of resilience.
