LUCILE DE PESLOUAN will come to sign his book "Why do girls have a stomach ache?" (Hachette), a feminist manifesto denouncing the discomfort that women feel, from childhood to adulthood, in a society that does not spare them. Lucile de Pesloüan wrote this text as a fanzine in 2014. Several hundred copies sold later, the book is published in an illustrated book with an enriched text, supported by realistic and striking illustrations by Geneviève Darling. Why do girls have a stomach ache? invites teenagers to question the situations of sexism that girls experience every day. The book raises awareness of the inequalities faced by women around the world, here or elsewhere, with unabashed illustrations that tell a complex and heterogeneous reality.
Lucile de Pesloüan has been in the book business in Montreal for several years. It is under the name of Shushanna Bikini London, that she began publishing her texts in the form of fanzines in 2012, distributed as much in alternative environments as in traditional bookstores. She has been a two-time Expozine Award nominee for her fanzines The Shushanna Bikini London Stories, in 2012 and 2014. Her lyrics are intimate, direct, poetic and engaging. She won a prize from the 2018 Literary Academy for her fanzine What I know about myself. First published by Isatis editions (Quebec), Why do girls have a stomach ache? now going out to a French publisher.
