Halfway between tribute and militant activism, this exhibition is that of our friends, lovers, brothers, sisters, children, companions, companions, and all those who, through culture, question our relationship to the world. AIDS and are the voice of our struggle.

We are coming to the 30 years of the association Act Up-Paris next year. It seems important to us to start programming this highly symbolic anniversary date at the end of this year.

Throughout this month of December at the Point Ephémère, Act Up-Paris engages, through an exhibition gathering various productions (illustration, video, painting, writing ...) and open to all, a collective mobilization to drive a political vision , artistic and historical of our activism. The goal is to connect young people with aging LGBT + people who have created and created a work or kept the artistic production of friends / lover dies of AIDS.

The artists, and in some cases the families and relatives, who responded to the invitation of Act Up-Paris wanted to show pieces likely to evoke both the AIDS, but also the idea of the transmission of a creation, a memory, a culture that must be shown again as thought and formed before being impacted by the impact of AIDS in our lives.

This cultural and artistic wealth, which brings together various productions from the 80s to the present day, must allow a real awareness of the reality of AIDS, its impact for 30 years in the different communities and the multiple artistic representations that have been the source .

Without AIDS, these works would not exist. The social, sexual, amorous, communal and family impact, so disruptive, would probably not have awakened creation so much in so many different forms. And yet, on the other hand, in an almost obscure and violent space, other works created by so many artists who died of AIDS have never been able to see the light of day.

To exhibit is to remember but it is above all to engage.
