The 2019 artistic season will begin at the Ladies Ladies with the photographs of Mr. Gac that we are happy to welcome between our pink and blue walls. His universe of melancholy poetry is expressed in bodies and faces that jostle codes and genres.
Be among the first-to-discover at the opening which will take place on Friday, January 18 from 19h.
And to evoke the artist, the very just words of Yohann Lavéant as such a pretty portrait:
"Mr. Gac survived.
The norm was gaining ground, smoothing the melancholy and plasticizing bodies, but Mr. Gac survived.
To give some blue in the gray, he struggled, he danced, he defined the space with buto and Bausch. His world is now articulated in a frame of tattooed flowers. This world is secure, the madness that emerges is soothing. Mr. Gac stages, from him to others. He makes up, he poses, he multiplies. His camera has the power to show us what he sees from his glasses.
He was born in the 20s, or 50s, whatever. He travels too. Of these travels he keeps only the best, and above all, he refrains from separating his memories. Each destination will bring to the previous one its colors and ideas, waiting to be completed by the next one.
Was it the Japanese sea or Scandinavian concrete? Can I wear only a hat and a cardigan? Otto Dix would he have painted me in color or in black and white? His sensitivity does not always find an answer, but the expression of his emotions is clear. A movement of Pina Bausch, a portrait of Erwin Olaf .... and emotion is born.
Curious and generous, he picks up and distributes. What he has picked out of curiosity is offered to us. His collection is not private, and he could add to it ... "
