In the 1970s, hundreds of women sent letters to Ms. Magazine, the first mainstream feminist magazine of the decade, to sign "With Sorority." Most have never been published. Forty years later, filmmaker Irene Lusztig travels the United States, stopping in the cities where these letters were written, and invites women in the region to reincarnate the voices of the authors, reading their letters in front of camera, and evoking the most intimate and sincere secrets, while connecting them to their personal experiences today.

What happens in this film is intersectional, personal, political and dazzling. A 70-year-old woman from San Francisco recalls the 1974 writer's decision not to simulate orgasm anymore. "It was totally mine," she says. In a poignant way, a woman reads her own letter, written in 1976 at the age of sixteen, evoking her fear and sense of loss, but also her optimistic exuberance, about her lesbian sexuality. These are just a few examples of the powerful portraits captured by the film from 306 interviews in 32 states. Lusztig's camera is motionless; it films these women without haste, and formal simplicity then amplifies the extraordinary dialogue and fusion between the past and the future of feminism.
